Whimsical Wednesday - Use your scraps!

Hi!

I know - I know.... it's not Wednesday!  Whimsical Wednesday's is a challenge site that I just found recently and fell in love with!

This week, the challenge is to use your scraps to make a card or project. Now there's a challenge I could get behind since I have a huge collection of scraps and I'm starting to feel guilty about not using them more. You can find out the rules and more information at the Whimsical Wednesday site HERE.

So here we go...

All of the paper scraps and various embellishments (even the rub-on sentiment) came from leftovers from an old Club SEI monthly kit. I was glad I was finally able to use up some of these as I usually end up with lots of scraps from the kits but can't quite bring myself to get rid of them. It's a bit hard to tell, but the cake was cut out of the white card stock (using Sweet Treat) and then the pattern paper layered behind it.  Hope you like it!

Take Care!

Play Date Cafe Challenge #91

Hi Everyone!  Miss me?  ha ha ha....

I've been away for a while for several reasons. I've been working on a couple invitation orders that took some time, I've been ill, and ... most of all... I needed a short break.  Seems my creativity needed a short vacation.  But - now it's time to get back into the swing of things; try some new challenges, and get ready for this year's Scrapbook Expo crop nights in August. Two days of cropping from 8:00 am to Midnight! Of course, with some shopping at the vendor hall mixed in!

So, I worked on a few challenges today, and I'll be posting them over the next few days. The first one is from The Play Date Cafe. The challenge is to make a card using only black/white and one additional color. Funny how something that would normally seem so simple gets challenging when you're forced to work within certain parameters! :)  You can find more on this challenge (and their other challenges) HERE.

Here is my take on the challenge!

Recipe: Black&White background from American Crafts; all other card stock from my scrap stash; piano, flourishes, sentiment cut from Quarter Note cartridge; ribbon from scrap stash; black pearl from unknown manufacturer. Finished card is 5x5.

Take Care!
