It's A Baby Shower!

Hello!

I've been having fun creating the invitations, favor boxes and banner for my friend's baby shower coming up very soon!  I really like how everything turned out (hopefully she does too!).

Cartridges used:  New Arrival; Tags, Bags, Boxes & More; and Making the Grade.
Card stock is all Bazzill on the favor boxes and banner.  Invitation card stock is from Papertrey Ink
Ribbon is from Michael's
Sentiment on favor box is from Papertrey Ink
Face stamp on flower is from PKS

The Mom's last name is Flowers -  Isn't she clever!?

The loops to hang the banner are slip knots so that they can be adjusted as needed.

NSD - Challenge #12

Challenge #12--Make a Scrapbook Page, Card, or other with a Kid's theme!

I am now officially in a creative coma. My husband found me pouting in front of my closet because I couldn't think of anything with a kid theme.. ha ha.  But then I remembered this paper I bought at my local craft store that basically had all the work done for me.  I pulled out two pictures of my nephew from his first communion, added a big flower and a button, did some journaling and added a metal cross accent and three gold brads.  Fastest page EVER!

There is no manufacturer listed on the paper, so I don't know who makes it. Even the brown ribbon accent is part of the paper. The rest was from my various accent stashes. I know I need to get better and keeping track of the manufacturers. The problem is, unless I bought it within the last six months, it's been removed from the packaging for organization/storage purposes.

I hope you all had fun today!  Don't forget you can still do the challenges if you'd like - and make sure to join Robyn at www.mypinkstamper.com at 10:00 CST for her live webcast.

Enjoy!

NSD - Challenge #11

Challenge #11--Make a project and use Pink, Green and Black in it!

I just love that Robyn chose my favorite colors to work with! Though if I hadn't been running a bit behind in trying to stick with one hour, I probably would have done more with this card. I want to give props to my sister Kristi for the idea of the fibers to outline one of the layers. I've seen her do it a few times on some of her projects and loved the results.

I used Nifty Fifties (my new favorite), and the paper, of course, is from the scrap bin. The pink fibers are from EK Success, and the pink pearls from want2scrap.

ONE MORE TO GO!! If you haven't already, come join Robyn and her design team at www.mypinkstamper.com.  Don't forget her live webcast at 10:00 CST.

Enjoy!

NSD - Challenge #10

Challenge #10--Make a layout or card with a pet in it!
Stop by www.mypinkstamper.com and join in! Lots of prizes!! Robyn has outdone herself!

I'm not a pet person. There, I said it. I've had pets before and I loved them, but as I got older I realized I don't want the responsibility of a pet. Though, if I had a ton of land and a great deal of free time, I would get a border collie. They're SO cute!  The pet theme wasn't my favorite - but I grabbed the Create-a-Critter cartridge and remembered when I once was obsessed with koala bears. I know as pets they're illegal - but the challenge didn't say it had to be a REAL pet!  Pets are supposed to be lovable right? And how lovable is this little guy?

The papers again, are from my scrap bin. The silver ribbon is from Offray, and the sentiment...you guess it...Papertrey Ink.

Off to Challenge #11!

Enjoy!

NSD - Challenge #9

Challenge #9--Use Glitz, Glam and Glitter in your project!

I am all about glitz! If in doubt, bling it out!! And what's more worthy of bling than Vegas? There's more bling and glam on this page than...well...there's a lot!  ha ha ha!!

I don't think the red card stock was captured in the photo to show how red it really is. Think patent leather red - with the same texture! I love, love, love this paper. Unfortunately, there is no manufacturer listed on the back. I just remember buying it at the last Scrapbook Expo. All of the gems around the pictures and ticket stub are from want2scrap. The silver star mirror card stock is from Worldwin.

Three more challenges to go! Come join us at www.mypinkstamper.com!

Enjoy!

NSD - Challenge #8

Challenge #8--Make a summer themed project!

Summer! Now that's a theme I can get behind! There isn't too much I don't like about summer - except maybe the fact that I don't get three months off like we did when we were kids....

Don't forget to take a look at all the challenges and join in the fun!  www.mypinkstamer.com.  Robyn has a live broadcast tonight at 10:00 CST too.

I was starting to get a creative block, so thinking "summer", I grabbed the Life's a Beach cartridge and randomly chose a cut and stuck with it.  This card is 6" x 4.5". The papers again are all from the scrap bin, and the face on the sun is from Peachy Keen Stamps. I used my Gypsy to hide the face cuts on the image so I could use the stamp. The new face is so much cuter! The image was cut twice so I could layer the two colors together.

On to Challenge #9...  Enjoy!

NSD - Challenge #7

Challenge #7--Make a Scrapbook Page!

Whew - 7 down, 5 more to go!  I hope I make it! Once again - if you want to join in the fun, check out http://www.mypinkstamper.com/!  There's still plenty of time!
My page is unique for me in that it's from 2010.  Only one year ago. Amazing since I'm still working on 2007! I recently received the Nifty Fifties cartridge, and when I saw the martini glass, I knew I would eventually use it when I scrapped this event.
The papers are from DCWV and various scraps. The martini glass was cut on velum from the Nifty Fifties cartridge, and the title was cut from Cuttin' Up. The red bling was from an unmarked package (I'm sure it was marked once upon a time). I have the journaling tucked behind the main picture.
The party? Well, the official name was the Wii-tini and Lounge Pant Extravaganza. It started out as a martini tasting party and wii-bowling tournament. Somehow we ended up adding the lounge pant aspect. Everyone had to wear their loudest lounge pants. We want to do this again with a different tasting, but so far no names have been mentioned that rival Wii-tini.   ..... I'm open to suggestions!  :-)
ENJOY!

NSD - Challenge #6

Challenge #6--Incorporate a TAG into your project!

Okay - so I really challenged myself this time. I have always wanted to try a step card, and the one you can see HERE convinced me that today was the day. It's a challenge day after all!  Don't forget to check out Robyn's National Scrapbook Day celebration at www.mypinkstamper.com!

All of the papers used are from SEI's Chocolat collection.  It's a few years old, but even though I use the kit quite a bit, I never seem to run out of the papers in it.  The mirror card stock is from Worldwin papers. And, of course, the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. All of the cuts are from the Forever Young cartridge.

Enjoy!!

NSD - Challenge #5

Challenge #5- Any 3-D item OR if that is too much of a challenge then add a 3-D item on your scrapbook page or card!

Yikes! I'm getting a little behind in the photos.  Sure wish time at work went by this fast!!!  If you haven't joined in the fun yet, you need to!  Go to www.mypinkstamper.com to see what's next. Missed a challenge or want to try one of the previous ones? You can find them all on her website.

This is a little gift basket for a friend of mine (so if you're watching this -you-know-who-you-are- this isn't your entire gift!  ha ha ha.  It will eventually hold little travel-sized bottles of baby lotions and such, but since I don't have any of that around my house, I just grabbed what I had to show the idea.

Papers are all from Stampin Up!, gems are from want2scrap, sentiments are from Papertrey Ink and the adorable stamped face is from Peachy Keen Stamps. The template for the box was copied from a magazine quite some time ago and I no longer remember which one, but it most likely was Paper Crafts.

Enjoy!

NSD - Challenge #4

Challenge #4:  Make something with a Mother's Day Theme!

I was hoping this would be one of the challenges today since I had yet to make cards for my mom and mother-in-law. I had an idea in my head last night of what I wanted to do, so I saved some time by not having to spend the bulk of this hour coming up with something. My sister is the one who got the instant creativity gene. Good thing I had a plan, because it took a few tries on the cage as the paper ripped on me twice!

All scraps! I didn't have the label for the roses anymore, but they have been with me for years and years waiting for the right project. The cage is from the Sentimentals cartridge and the sentiments are from Papertrey Ink. (There's that Martha Stewart lace punch again!)

Enjoy!

NDS Challenge #3

Challenge #3--Make a card, scrapbook page, or 3-D item with a breast cancer theme.  You can use a ribbon, make it pink, whatever you'd like.

Join the fun on http://www.mypinkstamper.com/ !

So once again, my scrap bin to the rescue. I started out wanting to make one of those rosettes with a flower in the middle.  After I made the first half I realized I liked the fan too much to continue making the other half of the rosette!  Don't you just love "happy accidents"? They tend to make up A LOT of my projects lately.
I don't have any of Robyn's stamp sets (YET), so I took two Papertrey Ink sets to make the Celebrate You sentiment. The punch is one of Martha Stewart's. I resisted buying her stuff initially, but now I am hooked on her around the page punches.
Enjoy!

NDS - Challenge #2

Whew! This day is going to go by SO fast!!  I needed to do something quick since I spent too much time last hour trying to figure out what to do. I had this layout in mind, so it was easy to pick papers based on the challenge requirements.  Want to play along?  Go to www.mypinkstamper.com  Robyn has a new challenge every hour today - and you could win some great prizes!!

Challenge #2 was to make a project using Kraft card stock.  I've had a couple pieces of this for quite some time but didn't know what to do with it. A piece of the checkerboard patterned paper fell out of my scrap box when I was looking for something entirely different - and wah-la! an idea was born.  Umm....this also shows you how far behind I am in my scrapping......four years!!!!  I tend to focus on my travel scrapbooks a lot and my normal life photos suffer in limbo.  But hey - at least my vacations are up to date!

Enjoy!

National Scrapbook Day - Challenge #1

Good Morning!

Happy National Scrapbook Day!!  I am so excited as this is my first time participating with My Pink Stamper's all day challenge event - I hope I can make it through all 12 hourly challenges.  I started a few minutes late, so I'm already stressed - but it's a fun stress!

Want to play along?  Go to www.mypinkstamper.com . You'll find a new challenge every hour - and each entry to her challenges gives you a chance to win a Cricut Imagine!  WOW!  Plus, there are hourly prizes as well.

The first challenge is to make anything with a cupcake.  This was right up my ally since I LOVE CUPCAKES!!!  :-)

I used the Sweet Treats and Create-A-Critter cartridges as well as scraps from my scrap pile. I hope to use up a lot of my scraps today. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.  (The inside says...Let's Pig Out)

ENJOY!!

Paper Doll House - You've Gotta Go!

Hi there!

This weekend, my sister Kristi and I went to the Paper Doll House in Sycamore, Illinois. The PDH is a super wonderful scrapbook retreat that I couldn't recommend more if I were a paid spokesperson! If you're looking for a great, relaxing place to get away and enjoy some uninterrupted crafting time, this is the place you need to go. From the moment I walked into the House, I felt welcomed and right at home. Actually better than "right at home" because I never had to cook, do dishes, or even pick up after myself. My car was unloaded and my stuff waiting at my workstation before the super-sweet owner Mary Kim finished giving us the tour.

The house itself has a rich and interesting history, which Mary Kim and Sheila were sweet enough to explain to us before we left. There is so much detail and many beautiful antiques that something new always catches your eye.

The large craftroom offers tons of space for each crafter and plenty of room for you to get organized so you don't waste time searching for things in your bags all weekend. Oh! And tons of extra lighting so even at 1:00 in the morning, you can still tell blush pink cardstock from barely pink cardstock. Plus, you have use of all their punches, scissors, cutting machines and more! It seems no detail is overlooked.

Food is always important when you're power crafting.  And Mary Kim has you covered here too. Each meal is home cooked right there on sight - and it is Fantastic!!!  I'm really going to miss the food tomorrow when I have to resume cooking at my house.

If you're looking for a relaxing, comfortable and welcoming place to craft and be pampered - book your stay now!!!  Click here to go to the Paper Doll Website.

Enjoy!!!

The Paper Variety - Polka Dots!

Hi Again!

Okay - another challenge down!  I just love unrestricted crafting weekends!  I should have another one coming up in oh....a decade or so.  ha ha ha!!

The challenge on The Paper Variety this week is POLKA DOTS!  Back to the handy Nifty Fifties cartridge!  I fell in love with this cat. Doesn't it just bring back memories of Boo Boo Kitty?  (Tell me I'm not the only one who remembers who that is.)

You can find The Paper Variety and their challenges - HERE

Here's my polka dot project!

The black cardstock is from Bazzill, the pink and white is from Stampin' Up. The ribbon is from Offray. The pink bling is from Kaiser. Although hard to see, I also put some Stickles on the collar. The curvy pink layer was run through the DOTS folder on the Cuttlebug.

Enjoy!

Flaunt It Fridays - Nifty Fifties

Hi there!

I was so excited to see this challenge on the Flaunt It Fridays blog last night as I had just received the Nifty Fifties cartridge in the mail on Friday morning. I've used it quite a bit this weekend - so many adorable cuts!

The challenge was to use the car on Page 24 of the Nifty Fifties handbook. You can find more about the site and the cool color challenges from Flaunt It Fridays - HERE

The picture doesn't quite do justice to the glittery, iridescent orange paper I used on the car. I was saving this piece of paper for just the right project, and this car seemed to scream out for it!

Except for the paper used on the wheels (scraps), the all of the paper and card stock is from SEI's Birdie Brunch set. The banner is from the same set. I then pop-dotted the card to the front of the card. I wanted the car to really make a statement, so the card measures 8.5 x 4.

Play Date Cafe Challenge #79

Happy Weekend!

I have had the best weekend! It's been non-stop scrapping and card making since Friday afternoon, and now we're starting to wind down and head home. My sister and I found a new scrap  retreat (well...new for us) that I'll be highlighting in a separate post later today. Let's just say it is AWESOME!!!

So late last night I was starting to run out of steam and decided to check the blogs for some challenge inspirations - and I found some I really liked. This one is from The Play Date Cafe. You can find their challenge rules and details - HERE

The challenge was to use gray, lime green and red. Outside of Christmas, I don't usually use red and green together - and gray isn't a color I use very often in any of my projects, so this was a challenge to me.....

I've been doing my best to use up my scraps wherever I can, so all of the card stock was from my scrap stash....as was the ribbon. I ran the gray layer through the Cuttlebug using the Happy Birthday folder and then inked it with red Color Box chalk ink. Although hard to see in the photo, the red layer is on top of a dark gray card base. The dress was cut from Gypsy Wanderings at 3".

Thanks for visiting!!
