The Scrapbook Expo this year was a lot of fun (as always!), and I came home with TONS of bling, lots of clear stamp sets (for $2.00 each!), and lots more.
Introducing my Guest Designer (and baby sister) - Kristi Wonders! What I always enjoy most at the Expo are the crops. Each year Kristi participates in the layout contests, and every year she wins or comes in second. This year, she did both! For the contests, participants are given a set of materials and either 30 or 60 minutes to complete a layout or card. Nothing can be added outside of the products you're given, and you cannot use anything other than scissors and adhesive. So, no die cuts, no Stickles.....only that which you are given.
For the contest she won, she had 2 piece of plain card stock, two full sheets of pattern paper, and one "scrap" of double sided pattern paper; three "crown" brads, and a piece of ribbon (maybe a yard in length?). Here is her product pile......
And here is the finished product 30 minutes later....
It's a bit hard to see in the picture, but the flower is two pieces of card stock crumpled, wadded up, and then shaped. That was the element that put her in first place. Great job!
Here is the project from the night before where she took second place. The rules for this one were a bit different. She was given the ribbon and the "candy" brads and had 30 minutes to come up with a layout.
Now back to my projects already in progress.........
Take Care!
